For the past four years Kelly has been attending Moorpark Community College in an
effort to improve herself. This was all to support her son and two twins, Shiloh and
Tristan, who are both wheelchair-bound paraplegics. They have cerebral palsy which
was incurred shortly after birth when both suffered a brain bleed.
Kelly found an affordable rental house but it did not have air conditioning.
Summer temperatures in the valleys around Los Angeles average in the mid-90° range +
so a house without air conditioning was not sustainable for her children. Kelly has a grown
daughter whose husband works for West Coast Air Conditioning in Oxnard as an
installer. Kelly found our foundation through the Christopher Reeve website and
requested assistance with air-conditioning. As she was renting the home, the foundation
contacted the owners about the possibility of portable air conditioners. The owners gave
their approval, so the foundation worked with West Coast Air Conditioning for the
provision and set up of one window unit and several portable air conditioners.
Thanks to all of your donations, Kelly, Shiloh and Tristan are now able to live
comfortably in their home.
